4Mile is a community access venture/centre which hosts many groups, sub contractors, professionals and clinicians as well as programs tailored to disengaged youth, personal development, programs building life skills and improving relationships as well as our NDIS participants.
NOTE:
I am not a registered provider.
I am not a therapist or allied health professional.
Horses are NOT NDIS CLAIMABLE and I DO NOT partake in equine therapy or animal therapy for NDIS participants.
I am however a Prep to year 12 teacher who is passionate about developing confidence through competence so much so I derived a program for it. The program encompasses tasks and lessons to develop life skills, increase social and community participation, confidence building, and engaging disengaged youth with a strong focus on respectful independence . The program is known to help improve relationships, build self awareness and help self regulation as well as understanding energy projection, personality profiling and different ways to communicate. It also focuses on developing skills to increase independence. This is our NDIS Program but also is offered to private clients and groups because of its successful outcomes.
Clients of ours may be affected by the changes in NDIS legislation.
I am trying to help clarify that 4Mile Farm is a centre many use to. Myself and my staff however, run two programs at the centre, where we use the private, safe space to facilitate the programs. The program is NOT limited to the centre however, due to the community focus, the flexibility and the space it is favourable among the participants to remain at the complex.
I believe the codes we best qualify for are in the Capacity Building area, 09, area and our preference is to try and use these first. However, if for some reason, we are unable to invoice under this area, then the other codes may be suitable as we work 1:1 with participants on and off site.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLAN GOALS?
If the NDIS goals in the current plan of a participant specifically state things along the line of wanting to engage in social community participation / or increase skills to manage anxiety and / or regulation of emotional skills, manage anxiety (for example), or building relationships and daily living skills and confidence it may be highly possible that we are able to continue lessons and the program as we are and invoice as we have been. In this case, a person’s plan can continue as we have been until the end of their current plan.
If the above paragraph does not relate, then we need to determine how the current plan is set up and whether there is funding allocated in areas we can invoice under. I have provided more information on this directly below. This will also apply to our participants who attend our Confidence through competence program.
The Confidence through Competence Program
This program allows flexibility to build skills, confidence and continue on with the program working towards the participants goals. The program focuses on cognitive, physical and emotional benefits of the participant. The program is designed to mentor and build relationships and trust in self and others. As a result of the program, many of the participants are empowered to re-engage back into education, workforce, society, etc. as well as transition through the different life stages thus transforming their lives, and the lives of others in their direct environment. It is an incredibly simple, yet profoundly effective, program focusing on Mind, body and soul and building confidence through peer support and mentorship to develop skills and is popular for the participants who are not progressing with indoor therapies.

In summary:
We are NOT delivering anything on the NDIS Excluded list, we deliver a program on or off site depending on the participants interests, needs and wants. 4Mile farm hosts us for the benefit of the secluded and quiet location.
Where to from here:
In the interim of sorting out our new ongoing arrangement, you are more than welcome to continue using our services as a private client if you like (like many others not on the NDIS do (ie you are personally responsible for paying the costs of the session(s), and not relying upon the NDIS in any way). If you would like to do this, please let me know and we will further discuss.
In the event where we can continue running the sessions for our NDIS participant, we will require confirmation from a plan manager first, that they are happy to honour an appropriate Core or Capacity Building line item to cover the ongoing sessions. As part of the final approval process to access this program, we will seek confirmation from the Participant’s plan manager and the approved line item for invoices for the participant.
As a matter of urgency, can you please follow this up this with your LAC, support co-ordinator and plan manager as the objective of this is to try and help work as a team to achieve the best outcomes for our participants .
Looking forward to hearing back from you soon
