Horses Helping Humans (HHH) Program at 4Mile Farm
4Mile Farm is proud to introduce Horses Helping Humans (HHH) to the Central Queensland area. This accredited, evidence-based assisted therapeutic intervention program is run weekly throughout the school term.
Program Overview
Horses Helping Humans is a program of support that can only be delivered by highly trained, accredited, and certified facilitators. While horses are not NDIS claimable, the program can be paid for privately or through our charity, should funding be available.
This simple yet profoundly effective program uses horsemanship skills to demonstrate the importance and impact of body language and energy projection in communication. Participants will learn about the four main personality types—each represented by the names of four horses, making them easy to identify with. Through this, participants discover how their dominant personality traits influence their body language and energy projection, particularly in stressful situations.
Emotional Regulation and Communication
The program teaches emotional regulation and communication skills in a fun, safe, and engaging environment. These skills are extended across the farm into various tasks and skill-building lessons, which not only increase confidence but also enhance social awareness.
As a result, many participants are empowered to re-engage in education, the workforce, and society, transforming their lives and the lives of those around them.
About the Program
The Horses Helping Humans Communications Program is a certified, evidence-based Equine Assisted Learning Intervention that has been operating successfully for over 20 years in Australia and New Zealand. It is widely acclaimed for its ability to achieve results that are often beyond the reach of traditional therapeutic methods.

The nature of horses makes them ideal for teaching individuals about emotions. It is impossible to feel both stressed and relaxed at the same time, and horses—being highly intuitive animals—can highlight this duality. This unique trait allows our skilled facilitators to guide participants in understanding how body language and attitude influence their own emotions, as well as those of others.
With our certified horses and accredited facilitators, we teach participants how to manage the fight-or-flight response based on the situation at hand. A subtle shift in posture, for example, can significantly impact the outcome of a social interaction, and our program demonstrates this in real-time, offering valuable insights into how emotional regulation can be achieved.
This program is highly popular among Child Safety participants, disengaged youth, school groups, and various other participants—including adults, families, and children—seeking to improve their understanding of personality profiling, self-regulation, and communication skills.
